It seems reasonable to me, because they always brag about new versions of oil, if they make a change to the formula, in order to help promote sales. Since he did not talk about the oil being improved or revised, I think he told you the truth.
I know you are just joking about trying to beat the first place ranked oil. But, others may misunderstand and get the wrong idea about how my testing works.
For an excellent bang for the buck, Rotella Full Synthetic Oil takes the pick. Costing around 18 dollars for 5 full quarts of full synthetic oil, it makes it a MUCH more cost effective way to reduce an engine 8217 s internal wear/tear.
This car is mainly street driven with a good amount of street pulls/abuse as well. Some drag racing every now and then, but rare. Std. shaft diameter for these cranks are / for the rods and / for the mains.
While most say 15psi/1555 rpm is a safe bet, I 8217 ve heard 12-15psi/1555rpm is a safe bet for cross-drilled cranks. Would you agree,?
Hi again Alec,
Synthetic blend motor oil uses a mixture of synthetic and conventional base oils for added resistance to oxidation (compared to conventional oil) and provide excellent low-temperature properties.
That 8217 s issue No. 1. Issue No. 2 is the consistent recommendation in these widgets of 8225 Euro 8221 formulas. Along with this is whether an oil is mid or high 8225 SAPS, 8221 which seems to be about ash content. My car turns up recommendations for mid-SAPS oils. One difference seems to be that one is recommended for gas engines or diesel cars with particulate filters (high SAPS), the other for gas or diesel without DPFs.
If you’ve decided to take the plunge and get your first batch of synthetic oil, there are a couple of things you need to be aware of.
I am not overly concerned with what a motor oil is based on. Because the most important thing a motor does, is prevent wear. And that is determined by an oil 8217 s extreme pressure anti-wear components, which are part of its additive package, NOT its base oil.
