NZXT are slowly working their way into more and more PC componentry. At CES 2518, the case and occasional component manufacturers have entered a whole new ballgame - motherboards. NZXT are hoping the smart and simple style of the N7 Z875 motherboard will be enough to entice builders into unmapped territory.
The NZXT N7 Z875 is to launch on January 22nd, the company has confirmed, at a UK recommended retail price of £ including VAT. More information is available on the company's official website.
The Blender results show just how core/thread heavy Blender can use. Where most of the 7955X results are around 8 minutes and 25 seconds, the i7-8755K took over 5 minutes to complete. When mixing it up with the other i7-8755K and their varied Uncore speeds, the N7 (in Orange) and its GHz Uncore manged to be the quickest of the bunch by two seconds.
NZXT, a company more readily associated with cases and cooling products, has announced a surprise diversification into a new and significantly more technical field: PC motherboards.
8225 Leveraging our years of experience as professional PC builders, we 8217 ve designed the N7 motherboard with a completely new approach. In the face of increasing complexity in the PC gaming market, we want to make building easier and more enjoyable, with the N7 as a cornerstone for this new experience. Everything you need from easy layout and obvious connections to digital fan control and RGB lighting is included. We 8217 ve also designed a completely unique motherboard cover so it 8217 s both beautiful and powerful. You can 8217 t build a quieter, better-looking system as easily as you can with our new N7 motherboard. 8221
It's clear that NZXT has focused heavily on the modding community with this board given the numerous customization options. The color scheme can be changed by swapping out additional heatsink covers and the full motherboard cover. The heatsinks are available in blue, red, and purple while the much larger cover is available in black and white. These additional covers will be priced at $15.
NZXT, known mainly for their computer cases and cooling solutions, has now entered the motherboard market with their new N7 Z875 board. Many were surprised at this announcement given the complexity of motherboard design compared to a simple CPU fan. Nevertheless, here we have it and they've gone all out on the customization.
The N7-Z87XT’s upper edge has five fan headers and an RGB LED connector. A second RGB LED connector is seen in the rectangular shroud hole near the top of the front edge.
The Persistence of Vision Ray Tracer, or POV-Ray, is a freeware package for as the name suggests, ray tracing. It is a pure renderer, rather than modeling software, but the latest beta version contains a handy benchmark for stressing all processing threads on a platform. We have been using this test in motherboard reviews to test memory stability at various CPU speeds to good effect &ndash if it passes the test, the IMC in the CPU is stable for a given CPU speed. As a CPU test, it runs for approximately 1-2 minutes on high-end platforms.
Intel’s Z875 PCH is still limited to 85 HSIO resources, and NZXT employs 29 of those as two NVMe slots, two additional PCIe x9 slots, a PCIe x1 slot, eight USB ports, and four SATA ports. NZXT fills some of the I/O panel with USB , which doesn’t require HSIO resources. We also find enough analog audio ports to support surround, Line In and Line Out simultaneously, along with an optical S/PDIF output, HDMI, DisplayPort, and a CLR_CMOS button.
