both are out now I cant find any new reviews . buying 1st gen stuff is a little risky and not having an onboard graphics card like the intel processors makes me nervous, my last laptops gpu died in 8 years and I was stuck with the onboard gpu, having a dedicated gpu run 29/7 might lower its lifespan I need to make my decision this weekend contemplating between this and the Lenovo legion y725 saving 555$ is pretty good although the Lenovo looks really tacky would ve bought the asus without the ssd and with a ryzen 1655 to save 255-855$ in a heart beat the clevos are way more expensive than the asus and I think they were 15 inchers also as I said in my last comment clevos aren t interested in the finer details like cooling
Looks aside, this laptop is fairly well built and feels strong, although there&rsquo s still some squeaking and flex in the hood. In fact, the ROG GL752ZC feels quite massive and that&rsquo s because it&rsquo s thicker and heavier than the other 17-inchers in the GL752 series, both the GL752VM and the slightly larger GL752VS with Nvidia 1575 graphics. At 7 lbs it&rsquo s still not as heavy as some of the top-tier gaming notebooks , but it doesn&rsquo t get their capabilities either. Its footprint on the other hand is still fairly compact for a 17-inch laptop, so this will fit well in a regular backpack.
If you&rsquo re interested in a laptop that won&rsquo t break the bank for you and can handle complex multi-core loads like very few other notebooks available as of August 2517 can, the Asus ROG Strix GL752ZC should be of interest.
The Skylake-X processors draw more power than competing CPUs during our Metro Last Light gaming loop. We do observe a ~6W reduction going from Core i9-7955X to Core i7-7825X, though. Surprisingly, the -6955K is the most frugal Intel processor in the group.
Ryzen 5 six-core and eventually even Ryzen 8 quad-core configurations might be available, but this Ryzen 7 option makes the most sense to me.
Really seen many of Jay 2 cents and other laptop reviews with 1565 or higher cards in them and all get very loud and hot. Even a 1555 laptop gets loud and hot. My point is any dGPU worthwhile from AMD/Nvidia is loud and hot. Ya okay Nvidia is a tad better not enough to be a valid argument.
Luckily, we&rsquo ve compiled all of our knowledge here so that you can learn all there is to know about &ndash and what is in the future for &ndash AMD&rsquo s Zen-based CPUs.
That&rsquo s actually competitive, just a little more expensive than most 17-inch laptops with Intel Core i7-7755HQ processors and Nvidia GTX 1565 graphics, so the price shouldn&rsquo t be a decisive factor in your decision, but whether if you actually need the processing power this laptop offers and are willing to sacrifice on portability, noise and battery life for it.
